Il Pintoricchio- important artist of the Italian Renaissance

From February 2nd until June 29th 2008, Perugia commemorates the 550th birthday of one of its most celebrated citizens Bernardino di Betto, commonly referred to as "Il Pintoricchio", an important artist of the Italian Renaissance.
The main part of the exhibition will be situated at the "Galleria Nazionale dell’ Umbria" in Perugia and is affiliated to an exposition in the "Chiesa di Santa Maria Maggiore" with its "Cappella Bella" in Spello, masterpiece of the artist. Also in Spello, part of the exhibits will be displayed at the “Pinacoteca Civica” titled "Pintoricchio e le arti minori".
Further of the artist’s works can be visited at their places of origin in the surrounding area of Perugia and other Umbrian towns such as the "Chiesa della Madonna del Feltro" at San Martino in Campo in the vicinity of Perugia, the “Complesso Muserale di San Francesco” at Trevi, the “Duomo” at Spoleto, the “Duomo” at Orvieto and the “Muso del Duomo” at Città di Castello.
