The owners of Villa di Monte Solare, Filippo and Rosi Iannarone, began a passionate research and selection of exclusively Umbrian produced wines in 1989.

After a few years the Villa di Monte Solare Cantina’s wine list was recognised as the most important and widest range of selected Umbrian wines in the world.
The criteria for selection vary. A mention in the guides of Luca Maroni, Veronelli, or Gambero Rosso can bring a wine to our attention, but even then its presence in our cellars isn’t guaranteed until it has undergone a rigorous personal tasting evaluation by the Iannarones themselves.
Even that is not enough: the wines are continually assessed with the daily tasting and judgement of the Hotel’s national and international clientele, an attentive and knowledgeable clientele with a high eno-gastronomical cultural profile.
Today the wine list includes more than 400 Umbrian wines including whites, reds and spumanti from the best, most well known producers, as well as many particular and rare wines from small and very skilled producers. Moreover, a selection of the most renown Italian wines and a list of Umbrian spirits complete the bibendum.

Every week restaurant guests are given the opportunity to sample special food and wine combinations and several times per year special evenings are dedicated to wine tastings hosted by very skilled producers.
